Lou Orlando is a freelance play-by-play announcer and sports journalist from Brooklyn, NY. He is a staff writer for Women’s Fastbreak On SI and Indiana Fever on SI, covering women’s basketball and the WNBA. He also covers the New York Rangers for Forever Blueshirts as well as the NHL and PWHL for Pucknaut as a freelance writer.

During his collegiate tenure at Fordham University, Lou was the lead voice of Fordham Athletics for WFUV Sports. Opportunities included radio play-by-play for Fordham Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, and Club Hockey, as well as television play-by-play for Fordham Baseball, Softball, and Water Polo.

In the spring of 2025, Lou received the Marty Glickman Award for Excellence in Broadcasting, honoring the top broadcaster at Fordham. He joins an elite list of WFUV broadcasters, including Ryan Ruocco, Spero Dedes, Dan D’uva, and Andrew Bogusch.

Lou also served as the sports manager of WFUV in 2024-25 and the assistant sports editor of the Fordham Ram, the university’s student-run newspaper, for Volume 105 in 2023. He boasts five New York State Broadcasters Association awards and one award from the New York Press Club.
